It is a quilt with an attached quilted pillow to fold it into. The folding is a knack that you'll very soon master.
 
This is made using halloween fabrics with appliquéd pumpkins on half the quilt blocks and on the pillow. The halloween theme is of course optional, as is the appliqué. Leave off the appliqué altogether, or add different motifs to suit your fabric and purpose.
 
The size of the quilt is 40" square. If you want to make it bigger, you certainly can but would need to increase the size of the pillow too. As a single bed size for the spare room or grandchild's bedroom, this would look fantastic. Just add more blocks.
