Well I'm a little late with the blogpost this month, I hope you'll forgive me!
The Year is now a full 3 months old, it's been a busy quarter and we've had fun, I hope you haven't missed anything!
Here's how we spent last weekend, as an example of how we keep ourselves busy:

Okay, let's make a list of what's happening and then we can look into each one in a bit more detail.
The return of Mini Makes on a Monday evening

12 Days of Summer
So, we'll start at the beginning.
A couple of days ago we saw the return of making mini projects on a Monday. You will know I hope, that for well over 2 years, Lizzy was live on Facebook every Monday bringing you a new mini pattern. I am confident that I speak for most of you when I say we all really enjoyed the projects and the Monday evening sessions. The end products of all the work that went into giving you Making It Monday, are the 2 lovely books Lizzy has published containing 50 patterns each. I'm sure you'll have your copy but here's a photo just because I love them!

Oh, and the other thing that happened was that we (you) helped to raise over £1000 for the Sue Ryder Hospice in Peterborough, Thorpe Hall! THANK YOU! And Creative Friends member, Jackie Durrant was the lucky winner of the Charity Quilt made by Lizzy. Congratulations Jackie.
So, back to the news!
We at the LC headquarters thought we'd bring back a winner - the return of "Making It Monday" the 2025 series, with a few little differences, as below.
There is no new (or old) Facebook group called Making It Monday - the lives will be on the Lizzy Curtis Facebook Page and we would love to see you posting photos of your makes in the Making It Special FB Group.
The live demonstrations are scheduled for the first and third Mondays of the month at 7pm. Here's another list, this time of the dates so you don't miss any:
April 7th and 21st
May 5th and 19th
June 2nd and 16th
We are "trialling" this for 3 months to see how you like it and to see if we can keep up! Lizzy and I will take one Monday each within the month, to produce a mini pattern for you and demonstrate how to make it. Some months we may even design a bigger project along the same lines as the mini one! For instance, this week Sunflower Pouch is our mini pattern (if you miss the live demonstration from Lizzy on Monday evening, do watch on catch up, it is a fabulous pattern and it was a great live event), but Lizzy also created Sunflower Bunches too. Both patterns are available in the website shop and Lizzy's Creative Friends can enjoy a huge discount - just sayin'!
If you love the new format, we may well continue after June!
We have chosen a "theme" for each month - this month it is English Paper Piecing (EPP), so the patterns include techniques on this theme. In May we've chosen Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) as the main technique in our patterns, and in June the projects will include Crumb Quilting (no official abbreviation but we could just use CQ if you like).
I'm sure I just heard someone cheering at this "new and improved" (I'm not sure it could ever have been improved, but we'll use the saying anyway) Making It Monday. Was it you?
Workshops
Some news in this little section is still a secret, so I won't spoil that!
However, this week, on Friday (11th April at 7pm) the first live session of the Linden workshop starts. Linden is a fantastic workshop storage case for when you go to a face to face workshop. Of course, you can use it for your sewing (or other) needs when you go on holiday too. The workshop will be run over 3 Fridays in the special workshop FB group. If you want to join in, all the details are on the website. We're going to have a cracking time!
Birthday Celebrations
I really can't comprehend how we've almost arrived at Birthday Week so quickly again this year. The months and years roll by!
For 2025 then, the celebrations of the anniversary of the Creative Friends FB group take place over 3 days - April 28th, 29th and 30th.
The details, surprises and cake are still a work in progress (there's not really a cake is there? Yes? Oooh, fantastic!) so I have little to reveal yet. But, if you've been in the group for any length of time, i.e. over a year, you'll know how much fun we have and that we'll be packing as much as we can into the 3 days. So don't miss out - if you're not one of Lizzy's Creative Friends, you can be! See below.
12 Days of Summer
I'm sure all of you who joined in with the 12 Days of Christmas events over the last 3 years will be looking forward to the new Summer version.
For you who don't know, the 12 days of Summer is an event taking place on the Lizzy Curtis Facebook Page during June 2025. The start of June is under 8 weeks away and that time will go by in a flash.
For 12 evenings, Lizzy will be live on her page, making a quilt. The pattern will be available for you and everything is completely FREE! There are no catches, there are no hidden costs, all you have to do is join in, dig into your stash, or treat yourself to some brand new fabric and off you go. If you've never made a quilt before, join the hundreds of stitchers who have learned from Lizzy and made their first quilt during the Winter events of 2022/23, 23/24, and 24/25.
